Steps
- Tie a clove hitch.
- Tuck the working end under the rope in the clove hitch as shown.

The constrictor knot can also be quickly tied around the end of an object without using the end of the rope.
- Make wide loop in the rope.
- Twist the lower side of the loop down over the top of the knot to form two loops.
- Slide the object though the loops.
- Finish up. You have a constrictor; just pull tight both ends and the knot will be firmly in place.
